February News from Barclay Place
February 22, 2008
Greetings from Barclay Place. The Board of Directors would like to take a few moments of your time to let you know about a few items. First, a simple Rules & Regulations issue: Skateboarding is prohibited anywhere on the property of Barclay Place. That includes the roads, parking spaces, sidewalks and especially the pool area and Tennis Court. This is to protect the asphalt and clearly the surface of the tennis court and pool deck could be damaged by such activities. Parents should be aware that they will be held financially responsible for any damage caused by their children's activities. Speaking of asphalt, you may have noticed the pink spray paint in multiple areas around the community. That's because we are getting ready to repair the asphalt and resurface. This activity will occur in March and residents will be notified about parking and other issues. Once done, we will have beautiful roadways and parking areas that need to be protected from damaging activities. Before we complete the resurfacing, you'll be seeing a tree crew that will be removing dead trees and trimming back branches. We'll be completing this work before the resurfacing so as not to damage the new work. You may have noticed that we have completed the resurfacing of the pool and spa deck and it looks terrific. If you haven't been down there, make a point to take a look. We are also starting a Neighborhood Watch group for Barclay Place. We don't have a crime wave in our community but we want to take aggressive preventative action to keep us that way. We have had several volunteers for Block Captains but we are in need of more. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office believes we need 15 for a community our size. If you are interested in becoming a block captain for 5-10 units in your area of Barclay Place, send an email to board@barclayplace-heathrow.com or write your name and address on a piece of paper and drop it at the Clubhouse mail drop. Please reference your interest in Neighborhood Watch. This is a very worthwhile cause as it gives the Crime Prevention Unit in at the Sheriff's office a communication channel to get us information about activities in our area. It doesn't take much time - mostly passing out flyers and handouts to your "block" as they are passed onto us. Please consider participating. As a last item, the Board has contracted with a new landscaping and irrigation service. We have had a number of complaints about the service and irrigation and our previous contractor simply wasn't responsive. The new company, Richert's Landscaping, will be starting on April 1, after the required notification period with Nanak's passes. As your neighbors, we appreciate all you do to make Barclay Place a wonderful community to live in. We hope that you find our activities value-enhancing to both your property values and your lives.
The Board of Directors at Barclay Place.
